State Representative Gina Hinojosa (D)
Gina Hinojosa is an attorney and experienced legislator serving the heart of Austin in Texas House District 49. Elected in 2016 and sworn in on January 10, 2017, she brings legal expertise and advocacy in service to her role. She previously worked at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and in private legal practice with Kator, Parks & Weiser, and was part of the legal team in the high-profile case against U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. She also served on the Austin ISD school board and contributed to Catholic Charities USA, Texas Rural Legal Aid, and the Equal Justice Center, all before turning to elected service. Now in the state legislature, Hinojosa serves on the House Public Education Committee, Business and Industry Committee, and the Select Committee on Educational Opportunity and Enrichment. She also chairs the Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee—playing a key role in campaign strategy and pro-democracy efforts. Her combined legal background and civic leadership make her a powerful advocate for education, social justice, and progress in Austin and beyond.

State Representative Donna Howard (D)
Donna Howard brings deep public service roots and healthcare expertise as a longtime member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2006. A registered nurse by training with both a BS in Nursing and an MA in Health Education from the University of Texas at Austin, she has a foundational understanding of healthcare systems and public health. Prior to her tenure in the House, Howard worked as a critical care nurse at Brackenridge and Seton hospitals and served as Austin’s first hospital-based Patient Education Coordinator, while also teaching health education at UT. She held leadership roles including District 5 President of the Texas Nurses Association and membership on the Eanes ISD school board. In the legislature, Representative Howard chairs the Texas Women’s Health Caucus, the largest caucus focused on women’s health policy, and serves as Vice-Chair of both the Appropriations (Article II) subcommittee and the Higher Education Committee. Her blend of clinical, educational, and legislative experience underscores her commitment to advancing health equity, education, and accountable governance across Texas.

State Representative John H. Bucy III (D)
John H. Bucy III is a small business owner and civic leader representing Texas House District 136, which includes parts of Williamson County such as Northwest Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville. Elected in 2018, he assumed office on January 8, 2019, and continues to bring grassroots and entrepreneurial experience to the Capitol. Before his legislative service, Bucy chaired the Williamson County Democratic Party, helping to elect multiple city council members and a Democratic county commissioner—the first in decades. He also founded an organization serving over 200,000 Texas public school students through athletics, academics, and arts competitions. Currently, Bucy serves as Vice Chair of key House committees including Elections, Public Health (Disease Prevention and Women’s & Children’s Health), and Local and Consent Calendars.
